Approach

I paint openings—light through clouds, an oval encircled by arms—that call attention to unexpected spatial dimensions. Each field of color is an admixture of many translucent glazes, creating a true physical depth that refracts light internally, transforming its appearance with every shift in ambient light. This feedback loop between tangible and depicted depth is what gives my paintings their resonant and calming effect.
